First indications
are that the sensational incentive scheme being offered to drivers for the
chance to win one of THREE ROVER 25 ADVANTAGE cars has been very
successful, with drivers job trip averages appearing to be up in line with
the seasonal increase in work with complaints down to the minimum.
And of course, don't forget that even if you aren't one of
the lucky three car winners, you stand to win a tidy sum from the DaC
cashback scheme. If you missed last month's Call Sign, then here are some
brief reminders...
Win a Rover 25 Advantage:
Every completed account ride that you did in November and do this
December will count as ONE point. If you accept an account ride between
07:00hrs and 10:00hrs or 20:00hrs to 00:00hrs or a Westminster (40704)
trip at any time, it will count as two points. Each time you reach 25
points, your call sign will be issued with a credit. At the end of
December, all your credits will be entered into a draw and the first three
different call signs drawn will win a wonderful brand new Rover 25 in any
colour - so long as it's red!
So if you have accumulated 200 points, you will have eight
credits in the draw giving you eight chances of winning the car! But in
order to enter, you MUST complete a minimum of 120 credit rides in the
two-month period.
The Rover car scheme is only open to members. DaC are
unable to include journeymen, as it would be contravening the rules of a
private lottery.
Cash incentives:
You also have the opportunity to win extra cash for covering
account work over the same two month period - yes, even if you win the
car! For every account trip you complete between 1 November and 31
December 2000 over and above the total amount of credit rides you
undertook for the same period last year, the Society will pay you £5. However,
you must complete a minimum of 200 account trips in the two-month period.
So if you did 140 account trips last November/December
and do 220 this November/December, then you will walk away with 80 x £5
(£400). But watch out, because if you only do 199 trips over the period,
you will not be eligible.
New drivers can also cash in. If you have joined the Society
since 31 December 1999, your starting point will be 200 and any account
trips that you do in the two month period over 200 will earn you an extra
£5 each. So if you do 230 trips, you will get a handy £150 sometime in
January, just in time for your wife or partner to go to the sales!
Scheme 2 is open to both members and journeymen.
