This is Master Zack Marcus Osborne who was born at the Whittington Hospital on August 5th 2005, together with his mum Sam French, who works in the Dial-a-Cab Call Centre. Sam told Call Sign that Zack sleeps a lot during the day but is frequently awake at night, which makes him an ideal candidate for the night shift on the fourth floor phones!
When Call Sign met them both recently at Brunswick House, Sam told us:
"He was in a real hurry to get out into the world because I was in labour just about 5 hours, but at 9lbs 4oz he was a bit of a push."
Sam winced as she recalled the effort, as perhaps only ladies who have gone through the experience of childbirth can know.
"He's our first child, but I hope to have more so that he's not alone,"
she continued while Baby Zack remained quietly undisturbed during the photo shoot. As the picture seems to show, he was probably dreaming about his next meal!
Everyone at DaC and Call Sign wish Zack and his family all the best for the future – not forgetting former DaC supervisor and now Zack’s grandmum, Theresa…
While no one expected Call Sign Magazine to beat 20+ other foursomes and take this year’s Dial-a-Cab 2005 Charity Golf Tournament at Sundridge Park on 13 July, to one organisation – The Albany Charity – it made absolutely no difference who won, because as this year’s nominated charity, they picked up a cheque that DaC rounded up to £4000.
The presentation, by Dial-a-Cab Chairman Brian Rice, took place in the Society’s boardroom on Friday 19 August.

Representatives of the Albany expressed their delight and told
Call Sign how much this money meant to their charity and added that as the Albany’s expenses ran at no more than 2%, the bulk of the cheque would go towards helping children with special needs.
The DaC Charity Golf Tournament replaced the former JRTA competition in 2003 and last year saw the London Taxi Driver’s Fund for Underprivileged Children also waltz off with a large cheque.
