Allan Evans
Hello Ladies and Gents,

Marshalling at holiday time…
We are now into November and within a few weeks the Christmas period will once again be upon us. It seems to come round quicker each year and the requests for information for our Marshalling services are now starting to come in. I expect it to be very busy on this front and there will be some regular locations throughout the festive season. I hope that when the time comes, many of you will work a little longer than normal to help cope with the predicted demand.
As I have always done in previous years, I will send out as much information on your terminals as regards the timings and locations of each individual event and I am confident that you

DRIVER OPERATIONS

will all respond in the usual way.

Canary Wharf – E140
The new E14 zero rank is now up
and running. It becomes operative from 9pm until 6am and is situated in Bank St, adjacent to the Clifford Chance Building. It works on the same principal as

EC5 and it is hoped it will give you the chance of covering genuine account trips only, with the option of using the E14C rank for cash work.
It is a physical rank, but trips that are not immediately accepted will be dispatched via the bid zone as they are from Finsbury Square. Many of you have asked for this rank to be introduced, it will be closely monitored and I ask you all to please book in correctly and fairly. A procedure sheet is available at Brunswick House or from the Marshal at Cabot Square.

House of Commons
The night drivers who cover the House of Commons account will have noticed that there are now

some added security barriers in
place that have caused problems with parking in what is already a high security pick-up zone.
A Marshal will be in attendance to help you liaise with the relevant passengers and I would again ask you to assist him as much as possible. Please check your trip details for any added remarks that are relevant to this particular account.

Meter interface
Finally, can I remind you that if you change the meter in your taxi, the interface must be checked at Roman way for compatibility.
If you change from one particular manufacturer to another, then it will almost certainly mean that the interface will also need to be altered so that the actual fare can be automatically transferred from the meter to the terminal.
If you are frequently entering the amount manually into your terminal, then you must visit Roman Way and have your system checked.

me just to push hard until the end, so I did and eventually managed to catch him - something I never expected to do today. But the car was really good and I could have pushed much harder had I wanted."

Matthew Cheyne, Sales and Marketing Director for LTI Vehicles told Call Sign: "The cabs were chosen because they truly are unmistakeably British. We are proud to be associated with the A1 Grand Prix."

A unique parade of London Taxis – recognised throughout the world - helped kick off the A1 Grand Prix of Nations. The iconic taxis were chosen as a symbol of Britain, parading in front of the crowds before the season’s World Cup of Motorsport opening round race at the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent.
Unlike F1 races, the A1 Grand Prix uses identical cars for all teams to ensure results are purely down to driver skill.
   Nelson Piquet Jr
took the big race for A1 team Brazil followed some 12 seconds behind by Australian Will Power with Salvador Duran of Mexico in third. GB’s Robbie Kerr finished back in a disappointing sixteenth position. Piquet also took a bonus point for A1 Team Brazil by scoring the day’s fastest lap – 183.4kph.
After the race, Nelson Piquet Jnr told Call Sign: "I had problems with the pit stop and Will Power managed to leave in front of me, so I got a bit worried. My team told
