cheque to DaC's Bill Tyzak (C6), the

presented a cheque to the LTFUC
While Call Sign was on its summer break,
another hugely successful LTFUC outing
took place – the annual trip taking 200
children from four ‘special needs’
schools across London to the Chessington
World of Adventure. The children were
taken in a convoy of balloon decorated
taxis under escort by Metropolitan
Police outriders who did a great job in
making sure they got there on time and
grateful thanks must go to them.
Uncertain looking weather kept queues to a minimum meaning more
rides and fun for the kids. The rain,
which had looked threatening, didn’t
arrive until late afternoon, so a great
day was had by all – except perhaps for
a few drivers who had been dragged onto
the rides by the kids and came off
looking rather ashen!
Two cheque presentations were made to the fund. Amanda White of
Westminster Motor Insurance and Chris
Kelsey, Government Affairs Officer of
LTI Vehicles, both presented cheques to
the fund’s Honorary Life President, Bill
Tyzack, BEM (C06) and the Fund are
deeply grateful to them for their
generous donations.
The Hon. Chairman and Committee would like to extend grateful
thanks to Chessington World of
Adventures for making the day possible
and would also like to thank Waterline
Ltd, Premium Appliance Brands (Kitchen
Appliances), Franke (Sinks & Taps),
Crown Imperial (kitchen Units),
Rangemaster (Hobs & Cookers) and bbh (Bartle
Bogle Hegarty).
In addition, the Fund would also like to thank the Jet Service
Station of Clipstone Street,
The RAC, St John’s Ambulance, McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut and Caffé
Nero.
Last but not least, the Fund would like
to thank all the wonderful drivers and
helpers who came and made the day
possible by giving so many needy
children a great time. They hope to see
you all again at the Southend outing on
Tuesday 12 July 2005 which promises to
be a really special fun packed day. New
drivers not on the Fund’s list should
contact the LTFUC Drivers’ Liaison,
Susan Angel, on 07958 280881.
