The brother of DaC Board member Mike Son has been elected Deputy Mayor for the Borough of Tower Hamlets. Brian Son is also a former Dial-a-Cab driver.
   While Brian was driving has cab full time, he decided during his spare time that he would take various part-time studies at the local university. He eventually graduated with a BA Honours degree and became a teacher. Later on, he was elected as a Councillor for Tower Hamlets.
   However, during past few years, Brian been battling with acute lymphoma leukaemia, but with the advent of new and improved drugs and by successfully managing the after-effects, he has successfully come through that illness and is back to normality.
   Mike told Call Sign: “We are all very proud of Brian. He has battled against so much adversity and come successfully through to the other side.”
