It was just another ordinary day for Dial-a-Cab driver Lionel Meir (A34) when suddenly his terminal bleeped for a fairly ordinary-type trip – a three cab job from New Bridge Street to Centre Point.
All three cabs arrived within minutes and each filled up with 3 or 4 very attractive young ladies. Nice, but just another job to a DaC driver! Things suddenly changed when they reached Centre Point and the girls started to undress in the backs of the cabs! Suddenly this was beginning to get interesting…
The girls then got out of the cabs dressed in fetching bikinis with bright yellow boots. It took a good 20 seconds for the traffic around Centre Point to grind to a halt while photographers – including one representing Call Sign - snapped away at the girls cleaning the windscreens of all three cabs!

Lionel's Lovely
Leatherettes!

Lionel's Lovely Leatherettes!
"It was for a Scholl advert," said Lionel, "although all we knew was that we had been hired to have photos taken. And for 90 minutes, this was a hiring-and-a-half," he said with a huge grin!
"Then a bus driver complained to the police about
the hold-up caused by the DaC Taxis and the bevy of semi-naked girls. Some people were just born to be miserable," Lionel went on.
"A policeman came up to us and asked what was going on – although his eyes seemed to be elsewhere! Someone explained the situation and his only comment to we three DaCs was: You lucky (expletive deleted!)… Mind you," Lionel ended, "they were good enough to hang around until the girls had finished. The long arm of the law had to be seen to be in action!"
Our cover photo probably says more than any words can!

DAC "CARPETBAGGERS" RULE CHANGE RESULTS

Following the sale of a 26% stake in their company to Cleveland Yellow Cabs by the now newly-named and demutualised Radio Taxis Group Ltd, the DaC Board held a postal ballot among all members to vote on a rule change regarding possible "carpetbagging."
RTG subscribers have received a dividend in addition to 1000 shares. While Brian Rice has said that DaC have no current plans to follow suit, there was no guarantee that at some time in the future DaC might not receive an offer that subscribers find too good to turn down, which left open the possibility that carpetbaggers could be attracted to become Dial-a-Cab members. This happened to several Building Societies before they changed their status some years ago.
The rule change would require all new members fitted after 1 September 2004 to sign a waiver to the effect that they would not be entitled to receive any payments nor will they be able to vote should Dial-a-Cab decide to change their status.
Voting ended at 11am on 17 August 2004…

Below are the results as audited by the Electoral Reform Service…
