A unique
exhibition celebrating the hidden histories of Asian, Black and
Jewish peoples' experiences of settling into Britain is
currently at the Jewish Museum in Finchley until 30 January
2005. Connections is sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund and documents the relationships, connections and shared experiences of Asian, Black and Jewish immigrants to Britain. It aims to challenge prejudices and highlight the importance of working together, demonstrating that although tensions, prejudices and competition may occur between minority groups, there have been many incidences of co-operation, mutual learning and support. Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London, told Call Sign: "London is a city of many cultures and faiths, each contributing to the cultural richness that is one of our city's hugest assets. It is my hope that all Londoners can continue to work together to strengthen and preserve the many things that bind us together, community to community, and resist that which seeks to divide us. Following talks with Mann & Overton of Holloway
Road, the DaC Board of Management have negotiated a £500 loyalty
discount on all new 54 reg TXIIs continuing until 31 December
2004 and is exclusively available to Dial-a-Cab members only.
The offer is also available on some selected used TXIIs, passed
and plated.
The deal is solely with M&O and members who want to take advantage of the offer must complete the attached voucher and present it to the Sales Manager at Mann & Overton, Ian Butcher.
