We are now into February and approaching the AGM. As is normal, the work will seem a little quiet compared to the hectic Christmas period, but the Virgin (WCT) work will certainly help us all throughout the coming year. The contract for 2004 has now been extended and signed and the work from that account will vary from week to week. Numbers required may change and times could be altered to fit in with the directives that Virgin Management require and naturally, we must all be flexible. As this is a new year, the Board have decided to start the booking-in and selection process from the beginning again.  This means that every member can once again book into the WCWC rank at the designated times, provided that they have not previously worked on this account (00750) from the beginning of this years contract (3 January 2004).  Please follow the correct  procedure and allow all drivers to again have the opportunity to work at one of the designated stations. With lots of work expected, I am certain that every member will get their chance on more than one occasion very soon, but the allocation guidelines must be strictly adhered to.

Marshalling
This years Marshalling events

 VIRGIN TRAINS
…AND OTHER BITS ‘N PIECES!
Allan Evans
over the festive season were without exception, extremely successful and again on behalf of the Marshalling team can I thank you all for your tremendous support. There was much for us all to be proud of, not least at Battersea Park and I received a letter of thanks from their Management team, which showed just how appreciative they were of Dial-a-Cab’s effort to successfully combat the unlicensed trade (see Mailshot).

Terminal Upgrade
You should all by now have received a letter requesting you to contact Roman Way to schedule an appointment for the terminal upgrade. We are now pretty much up to speed and are hoping to finish the whole fleet in early March so that the switch over can be completed. Radio Signals will be improved and all the hard work will then be worthwhile. So please contact Roman Way immediately if you haven’t already done so…
Please remember that if you feel you need additional help in using

the terminal (inc Credit Card and Taxi Card usage etc) please contact me on 0207 251 0581 ext 225 and I will be only too pleased to be of assistance.
While the work is still picking up, it is even more important that rules and regulations are correctly followed on all ranks - especially EC5, E14C and W101. They will be strictly monitored to make sure that they are as fair as possible for all members.

DaC Offers
Many of you have already taken up the concessionary offer from Eurostar and I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has travelled to one of the destinations. The offer is still open to all DaC members and their families / friends and booking forms are available from Drivers Reception. If you feel you need time to chill out, this is it!

Also as you will have read in Call Sign that we have negotiated an attractive two-year rental deal with Cygnus meters for those members that are presently with another supplier. If you require further information, please contact Cygnus meters at M&O’s Holloway Road address.
I look forward to seeing you at the AGM…
