LTI GIVES CAUTIOUS WELCOME TO LTI
Vehicles has given a cautious welcome to Government plans to make local
authorities justify restrictions on the number of taxi licences they
issue. The TXII manufacturer believes that the Government’s action plan
– a response to the OFT report into the UK taxi market - is unlikely to
include primary legislation to compel any local authorities that restrict
hackney carriage numbers to remove the restriction, but that the
Government seems content that local authorities already have the power
under the 1985 Transport Act to de-limit as required. |
