This year's winner of the
Taxi Driver of the Year competition Howard Kott (B74) finally took
delivery of the prizes that he claimed by winning this years title at the
committee's Dinner and Ball held at the Grosvenor Square Marriott Hotel.
Howard's prize list consisted of £2000 from the long-time sponsors
Dunlop, together with a set of their new tyres. He also won £300 from
Dial-a-Cab as our highest placed driver and a years free meter rental from
Taxitronic.
"It is a great feeling to have won," said
Howard, "and I'm looking forward to defending my title next year -
hopefully at the competitions true home of Battersea Park."
Taxi Driver of the Year committee member Ken Freeborn (W06),
told Call Sign that the evening went very well...
"The formalities were over fairly quickly and a great
night followed. I even won a set of tyres!"
