Drivers are always asking for software updates, so Call Sign crossed over to our software department in Morgantown, Indiana, USA... Beginning in November and continuing through January, the DaC fleet of MP5 taxis will be receiving a software upgrade to release 3.3.5. Initially, this software upgrade will consist of one enhancement: Upon <<ARRIVAL>> at a prebooked trip, the accumulation of waiting time will only begin at the prebooked time. The prebooked time is displayed on the first line of the trip details as PBHHMM. Attempting to start the waiting time clock prior to the prebooked time will result in the message: NOT PREBOOKED TIME YET and no time will be accumulated. Then at the prebooked time, the waiting time clock will start automatically. In January, when all MP5 taxis have been upgraded to 3.3.5, the remaining enhancements will be turned on. These are as follows: * Scheduled transmissions of GPS longitude and latitude coordinates upon request by call sign. This enhancement allows dispatchers to assist you with |

locations and during emergencies. * Software revision checking will occur whenever you sign-on to the MP5. This ensures that all MP5 taxis have been upgraded with the enhancements. * DaC charge card accounts may optionally require a passenger-supplied reference on hail and ride street jobs. Since not all accounts require references and since references vary by account, the MP5 will tell you when a reference is needed. This notification will include a description of the reference (spend code, cost centre, employee number, etc) and a virtual keyboard for entering the information given to you by the passenger. How Do These Software Changes Affect The Old 7100 Taxis? Only the charge card reference requirement applies to the 7100's. Either way, when a charge card account requires a passenger-supplied reference for street jobs, the 7100 driver will receive notification to: A) Send a general code for the described reference or...
