Christmas Incentives
Depending on the state of your post, you may or may not have received this latest edition of Call Sign before the AGM, but we live in hope! We have decided to make the draw for the three Rover 25 cars at the AGM on Sunday February 4th so if you are not able to be present but you are a winner, we will notify you by post and hope that it gets delivered before the following AGM!

Christmas Coverage
Our coverage coming up to Christmas was not too bad considering the appalling traffic conditions, terrible weather and of course, the ongoing rail chaos. Consequently, I think that the vast majority of our clients were satisfied with the service we gave.
   I believe that having our two incentive schemes coupled with the fact that we had increased the fleet by two hundred mobiles up to the end of November, added to that level of client satisfaction. As you are probably aware, the number of chances that each member received to win one of the three cars was on display for a two-week period in Drivers Services in order that any interested member could see how many entries they had accumulated in the draw. I should say that the exercise was a little cosmetic because our computer produced the statistics and I have every faith in its accuracy, but as I'm sure that most of you are aware, in an organisation such as ours everything must be seen to be fair.

   Those of you that qualified for the financial incentive should have received or will certainly receive very shortly, your payment. Including the cars, the cost of the Christmas Incentive was just in excess of £110,000.
   I am very proud of the fact that no other radio taxi company in London can boast - as we can - the fact that they have the cheapest monthly subscriptions in the trade and yet still return £110,000 to members in an incentive scheme, thereby emphasising the fact that we give better value for money than anyone else in the trade.
   Not only did we give a return to members, we also enhanced the service that we would have given to our clients at a particularly difficult time of year while maintaining that account base, so that all good 'radio men' can continue to be so during the current year.
   I cannot finish this topic without thanking all the Marshals who did an outstanding job prior to Christmas. During the 'run up' we did nearly forty functions and they all went extremely well. Of course the functions that we did were over and above the venues where our Marshals are always in attendance - so well done!

Annual Report
Hopefully, you would now all have read our Annual Report and I am sure you would all have been as pleased with the results as I was. Again, we must hope that London and the economy will remain buoyant for the foreseeable future and that the trend within the licensed trade will continue. I believe, as I'm sure many of you do, that the licensing of the unlicensed trade will have a bearing on our business in the long term unless all of us are vigilant and continue to give an excellent service to our account clients. I have every faith that you will do so.

Sales Dept
You will read elsewhere in the magazine about the departure before Christmas of David Adelman, our former Sales Manager.
   David was with us for the last seven years but he has now joined a company in the current unlicensed trade as Sales Director. I would like to take this opportunity to wish him well for the future, but of course not at the expense of Dial-a-Cab.
   David has been replaced by a young lady who has been with us for several months, however, as she worked for many years with one of our competitors, she is certainly no novice when it comes to the licensed taxi trade and I am convinced that she will do extremely well in her new position.
