How it looked around the world

Last month Call Sign exclusively told the story about a consortium of cab drivers - many of them on DaC - who had formed a financial club (FISCAL) investing on the Stock Market and who were featured on Sky TV's 'Simply Money' channel.
This month we were there to watch the group's Chairman - John Dixon (B67) - being interviewed live on Bloomberg TV, the financial information service that is broadcast around the clock and also around the world.
Arriving at Bloomberg's Finsbury Square HQ, John was whisked into 'make-up' before going live. The interview lasted about 5 minutes and covered the groups' history, long-term holdings, achievements to date and sources of information.
John spoke confidently without any sign of nerves, but in true fund manager tradition was careful not to give away too many secrets!
"Well," said John, "this was live TV

beaming out across the world and you never know who's listening!" he confided to Call Sign with a twinkle in his eye. After the initial live  broadcast, the program was repeated at intervals throughout 24 hrs. John has also been invited back at a future date to be arranged, so watch this space.
Following last month's story, several drivers have asked Call Sign about joining the FISCAL Club. However, regulations permit only 20 members and that's how many they have...

HOW TO JUMP START YOUR TAXI
There are a surprisingly large number of taxi drivers who do not know how to jump-start their taxi if necessary. A well maintained battery should last at least two years but few of us can say that we've never been caught out by a flat battery. So here goes...
Always keep a good set of jump cables in the boot, there is no point buying cheap ones because they won't conduct enough power. Most jump-start cables come in red and black, but contrary to popular belief, it doesn't matter which colour you use so long as that colour connects like to like. 1. Park the vehicles close enough so that the batteries can be linked.

2. Connect one end of a cable to the good battery's positive (+) terminal and the other end to the poor battery's positive (+) terminal.
3. Connect the remaining cable to the good battery's negative (-) terminal and the remaining end to the poor battery's negative (-) terminal.
4. Start the "good" cab and gently rev the engine to increase

the engine speed.
5. Start the cab with the flat battery and keep fingers crossed that that's all it was!
6. Once started, disconnect the leads attached to both negative (-) terminals first followed by both positive (+) terminal leads.

Do not allow any cable ends to touch any other part of the cab other than the battery terminals once the connection has begun.
Please do not smoke or light a match. The fumes from the battery are flammable and could explode.
