Firstly, may I thank all Dial-a-Cab members for the support they gave to
me at the recent AGM elections. Let me assure you that it is never taken for
granted...
Clifford Chance Open Day
During the year, the Facilities Manager at Clifford Chance organises various
open days for staff to meet with and talk to suppliers. It is also an
opportunity for those staff and suppliers to put a face to a voice on the
phone. I am pleased to say that Dial-a-Cab were invited to attend, as were
other suppliers of transport, stationary, telecommunications, catering etc.
It is important to know that we are not the only transport company used by
Clifford Chance, this being due to the number of staff and visitors who do use
taxis and limousines. Many questions were asked of our team, some about service
and invoicing, others were about the differences between ComCab and ourselves
and of course there were questions about minicabs. As many of you are aware, we
do in fact share this account. I have to say that we were complimented by
nearly all of the staff and managers on the service given by our drivers and

Centre staff. Further meetings are being arranged to discuss
various issues and how we can improve our service. Customer Care is
paramount within any organisation.
Fixed Prices
Some months ago as you know, the Board directed me to adjust
the fixed prices of journeys on most accounts. There are still a few that
I was unable to address, due to existing contracts. Although there are
still some fixed prices that could be improved on, I must say that I have
had very few complaints from drivers. Having said that, some of the
accounts that may have prices a little below par are up for renewal and
are going out to tender, therefore it would foolhardy to rock the boat and
increase the prices at this time.
Many competitors, not only from the taxi industry, are
sending in their tenders and will be invited to offer presentations. I
would

urge you to maintain the good service we have given for many years and
above all, do not moan to customers about cost.
Logo's
If you are paying the reduced subscriptions because you have
stated that you will carry the Dial-a-Cab door logos, please make sure you
have them affixed to your taxi.
Some drivers are sending registration numbers of cabs that they
feel are flouting this concession and every one of these is checked out. It
is unfair to those who do sport the door logo to see drivers without them,
yet who are claiming the reduced subscription benefit.
First Aid Training
Drivers have been inquiring whether there will be more First Aid
training sessions. I have no problem re-introducing these, providing there
is sufficient support. Previous groups have met with great success.
If you or your families are interested in attending a First Aid
training class, please leave your details on my voice mail (ext 525) or send
me an email to michaels@dialacab.co.uk
