TXI manufacturer announces 'no price increase' for the third year running
London Taxis International has announced a new standard warranty package
that will further improve the value of every new TX1 and give added 'peace
of mind' motoring to taxi drivers.
Customers taking delivery of a new TX1, registered on or after 1st
September 2000, will benefit from greatly enhanced warranty cover of
100,000 miles or two years, whichever occurs sooner, on all original
mechanical and electrical components and paint and body items. The
previous TX1 warranty covered vehicles up to 40,000 miles or 12 months.
In addition, the TXI manufacturer is delighted to announce 'no price
increase' for the third year running. So, in real terms and taking into
account inflation, the retail price of the latest TX1, which benefits from
a superior specification than the launch vehicle, has actually fallen in
price and risen in value.
Speaking to Call Sign, Terry Fryer, Director of External Affairs for
London Taxis International commented: "The new improved warranty
cover is offered at no extra cost to owners taking delivery of a new TXI
on or after 1st September. This coupled with the fact that LTI is holding
the price of the TX1 for the third year running means new owners are
getting a far better deal and a far superior taxi for their money than
ever before."
Since it was launched in October 1997, the TX1 has gone from strength to
strength in reliability. This was a key reason for LTI further extending
the warranty cover to 100,000 miles or two years. At the same time, the
TX1 manufacturer has constantly strived for greater production efficiency
and better build quality, enabling the company to keep prices at the same

To mark the launch of the 2000-2001 TX1 sales drive, London Taxis
International is kick-starting the campaign by giving away a total of

between 1st September and 1st October 2000.
