In July, a friend asked whether
I'd be interested in knocking together a quick web site to promote his
intended charitable trip to China. Now I consider myself to be a
charitable person, well sometimes at least, but when someone says
"knock together a quick web site", I get worried. His intention is to travel together with his friend from London to China and back by motorbike, publicising his journey by visiting Internet Cafes en-route sending me his travel log and images. Check out http://www.orientexpress.ws to view his journey, but please bear in mind it is a freebie and won't be an all-singing and all-dancing web site, but it is at least functional. Can you smell something there? Don't they call it bull****! So it seems the music industry are combining their efforts to close down Napster's web site, as mentioned in my last article. For those that missed it, Napster is a web site and application that joins thousands of browsers over the Internet, providing the ability to swap audio files. The recent court case in the United States went in favour of the music industry and Napster was told that their site must close down. They are appealing and we wait with baited breath because this could have far reaching implications for the freedom of transmitting data over the net. But in the meantime, get online at either http://www.napster.com or http://www.scour.com whilst it lasts. My £1,000,000 Earning Web Site! C Ya next month... Vince Chin |
