Dial-a-Cab has again joined forces with the Crème supplement of The
Times newspaper for the second year running to sponsor the City
Receptionist of the Year Award.
Londoners - including many DaC drivers who filled in their own forms -
were asked to nominate the receptionist they felt most deserved the
accolade by completing a nomination form in Crème.
After deliberating for several hours, the judges chose Eilish Owens of
Japanese shipping company BYK Bulkship (Europe) Ltd as the winner from the
six finalists. The judges were impressed by her professionalism and
attitude. Her prize was a weekend for two in New York and just to complete
a memorable week for Eilish, she also became engaged!
The two runners-up were Yvonne Stroud from Denton Hall and Margaret Lowe
from Weil Gotshal & Manges. They both received a certificate, a Thomas
Pink shirt and a bottle of champagne.
The judging panel comprised of DaC's Brian Rice and Allen Togwell,
Katherine Bergen, Editor of Crème. last year's winner Lorna Ewin and the
Managing Director of recruitment company Love & Tate, Maggie Love.
Eilish was awarded her certificate and prize on December 8th by Dial-a-Cab
Chairman Brian Rice.
She told Call Sign that she was completely overwhelmed by her win. "I
was amazed to even be nominated let alone win," she said.
Brian Rice told our reporter that he was surprised how different each
finalist was in both approach and personality. "That made the judging
even harder," he said, while Marketing Manager Allen Togwell was
impressed at how high the standard of receptionists is. |
