YOUR J.T.C. CORRESPONDENT, MARTIN GELLMAN C47

A meeting   has been set up by the Home Office (no less) to discuss further the accepted 10% fare increase. This meeting has been arranged for 21st November and as I will be seeing most of you on the 27th November, I hope to be able to report the outcome of the JTC meeting at the AGM.

I look forward to answering any questions you may have on either JTC or JRC issues when we meet.

LONDON TAXI DRIVERS FUND FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN

Once again the London Taxi Drivers Fund for Underprivileged Children are running their successful appeal for toys, books and games - new or second hand - for distribution to children’s homes, orphanages and the toy library. You can leave them at any of the radio taxi offices or trade paper offices where our Committee Members will collect them.

They can also be brought to the Lyceum on the 13th December 1977 where we are having our buffet & ball.

We appreciate your help, so you can just imagine how much the kids will.

Gerry Dunn, Assistant PRO

RELUCTANT ACCLAIMS?

My reluctance in the past to throw out accolades to staff is solely superstition. I used to say, this one was the bestest and that one was great, and then the next month one would leave. I’m fighting my fears here and now by saying the evening shift that is marshalled by petite Maria, is working ‘fab’. Maria, who took over from Liz (very difficult to follow), was at the time lacking in confidence and probably a little inexperienced. Now she has blossomed out into an excellent supervisor and has knitted together a very good staff (style) shift. Please Maria, prove my superstitions unfounded, stay with it, together with the evening shift. You are a pleasure to have on our payroll.

I’m sure I will be able to report on the night shift when I get to know more about them. Till then all you loyal staff, keep the ODRTS flag flying, a lot of people rely on your know-how.
