Pic right: Barbara Windsor with the BLISS cab. Call Sign has
followed the exploits of our four Dial-a-Cab drivers - Paul Bishop (R64), John Dixon
(B67), Phil Stern (B98J) and Bob Woodford (P49) - who have been helping BLISS (Baby Life
Support Systems) collect funds to help pay for the new and ever-more expensive hospital
equipment that is needed to help babies with urgent need of special care. They have
already completed in the 1998 London and New York marathons and collected enough to pay
for an incubator. |

Bob Woodford P49) has set himself an even harder task. In April 2000 - again for BLISS - he aims to run across the Sahara Desert carrying a full back-pack! To succeed, Bob must run 143 miles in seven days! Call Sign has already ordered its camel and will follow Bobs | run under the hot, desert sun. Meanwhile, Eastenders star Barbara Windsor has helped publicise BLISS by launching the BLISS cab - sponsored by Liberty Mutual Insurance (UK) Ltd. Barbara - a supporter of the licensed trade - told Call Sign: |
"70,000 babies are born each year in this country either too early or with other problems. BLISS helps them get the best possible start to their lives. I hope that this special cab will help to raise the charitys profile as well as bringing awareness to its work." |
DOUBLE DIAL-A-CAB DOOR LOGO DRAW WINNERS There may have been no February Call Sign, but the cab door logo prize draws still
continued. So this issue has two winners - both from south of the Thames. |

beckoning! |
