DIAL-A-CAB DRIVER IN CHARITY RELAY SWIM ACROSS THE CHANNEL

DAC driver Robert Lyle (W39) was part of a successful six-cabby relay Channel swim on July 20th to help raise funds for the children’s Starlight Foundation. The crossing by the brave drivers took 12 hours and 51 minutes - over an hour less than the planned time!

Robert told Call Sign that although the swim was very tiring, the realisation was that a fifteen year old Leukaemia sufferer, Michael Cooper from Catford, would get his wish of a trip to EuroDisney granted. Robert met one of the other drivers, Steve Smith, when on the Knowledge together eleven years ago while Steve met the other four through cab drivers eateries. The six are now talking about

another sponsored swim - this time across one of the huge American lakes.
Robert also wanted to thank Dial-a-Cab publicly for their generous donation.
