DIAL-A-CAB DRIVER IN CHARITY RELAY SWIM ACROSS THE CHANNELDAC driver Robert Lyle (W39) was part of a successful six-cabby relay Channel swim on July 20th to help raise funds for the childrens Starlight Foundation. The crossing by the brave drivers took 12 hours and 51 minutes - over an hour less than the planned time! |
Robert told Call Sign that although the swim was very tiring, the realisation was that a fifteen year old Leukaemia sufferer, Michael Cooper from Catford, would get his wish of a trip to EuroDisney granted. | Robert met one of the other drivers, Steve Smith, when on the Knowledge together eleven years ago while Steve met the other four through cab drivers eateries.
