![]() Hello Ladies and Gents, I hope you have all enjoyed an excellent festive period and have had time to recharge your batteries. The December period provided Dial-a-Cab with some of the busiest days on record and I would imagine that you are grateful for any time left to chill out with your friends and families. There were more Marshalled events than ever this Christmas and on behalf of all the team, can I again thank you all for your support. It isn’t easy to provide high numbers of taxis at large events, especially on nights that |

had six or seven running concurrently, but yet again we came up trumps. Well done and thank you to everyone that assisted!
A time for reflection |
Optimistic about 2006 The Board of Management has good reason to be very optimistic about the year ahead. There are many reasons why clients and drivers choose Dial-a-Cab over its competitors. The professionalism of the Society is well documented and from the Chairman downwards, we have the know-how and expertise to deliver a service that is without doubt, second to none. I am sure that if we all continue to work as a team and concentrate on the many positives, we will continue to go from strength to strength. We are at the top of the tree, so let’s all make certain that we remain there! Have a very Happy and Prosperous 2006... Allan Evans |
London Cabbies Bare (Almost) All For Charity Calendar! |
Not so much the
Naked Chef as the naked cabbie! 15 London taxi
drivers threw their clothes and caution to the
winds and bared all for a charity calendar in
aid of NABS and Macmillan
Cancer Relief – a charity that DaC drivers
were associated with for six years. With their
modesty preserved by strategically placed
golf-clubs, four leaf clovers, rockets and
conkers, the 12 male and 3 female drivers aim to
drive sales of the calendar - produced by taxi
advertising company, Taxi Media. To order a calendar, send a cheque for £7 made payable to Clear Channel: Stephanie Clarke, Taxi Media, 13a-15a Canterbury Court, 1-3 Brixton road, Kennington Park, London, SW9 6TA. ![]() Taxi Media were inundated with offers to pose from male drivers. Lady drivers proved more reticent. The female cabbies included: Tammie Griffin (aged 33), a cab driver for 5 years who posed as Miss February covered by love-hearts and Nicola Capoccia (aged 30) who as a new mum, was especially brave! Nicole has been a driver for 6 years and posed in a witch’s hat as Miss October. Greg Forster, Managing Director of Taxi Media told Call Sign: "We would like to thank the taxi drivers who so generously gave their time to pose for these remarkable pictures. Due to the loss of a much loved and missed colleague, we decided to help raise money for these two worthwhile causes, Macmillan Cancer Relief and Nabs. The taxi industry is renowned for its generosity and this has been reflected in the interest in the calendar and support shown by all the drivers." |
