CALL SIGN AT THE MAD HATTERS TEA PARTY |
|
On a sunny winters
day in January, Call Sign joined 600+ smiling kids and many
celebrities when paying a visit to the most special party of the
year – the London Taxidrivers Fund for Underprivileged
Children’s Mad Hatters Tea Party at the Great Room of London’s
Grosvenor House Hotel. DaC’s David Lessman (D19), as newly elected Chairman of the LTFUC, was entitled to the huge grin on his face following the success of the party after four hours of great fun including dancing, eating and watching the great entertainment linked, as usual, by Black Diamond DJ, Dave Davis. The enjoyable Bournemouth Carnival Spiderman Band were there again, together with American cheerleaders, singers, dancers, celebrity guests such as the gorgeous Shelly from Coronation Street (Sally Lindsay), several members from the cast of the Eastenders – all of whom were recognised by the kids, young singing sensation Tom Morley and many others. Top of the bill again, as they were last year, were the incredibly popular Cheeky Girls, who performed their chart-topping hits. The two girls then spent two hours signing autographs and posing for photos in a queue that never ended! Just as last year, they turned no one down! Supporting the Cheekies was Elvis Shmelvis who went through several of the King’s hits! Also there from DaC were Mike Son, Bill Tyzack (C6), Sim Yainnikaris (E53) and Gerry Dunn (S84). The Fund have asked Call Sign to pass on their sincere thanks to the Grosvenor House Management for their amazing help in giving them the hall for the day and paying for the food, without which the event could not have gone ahead… |
