DIAL-A-CAB STAFF PARTY AWAY CHRISTMAS! |
Many
of the staff who work at Brunswick House throughout
the year were treated to a Christmas party by
Dial-a-Cab to thank them for all their hard work in
2004. Several Board members, including Chairman
Brian Rice, mingled with the staff at the Chelsea
riverside venue. Food, drink and non-stop dancing – all the ingredients needed to make a party swing – were there in abundance. "It was a fabulous evening," DaC Supervisor Theresa George told Call Sign, "everyone had a great time and we’d like to thank the DaC Board for putting it on." Call Taker Sarah French told us that she’s had a ball. "It was such an enjoyable evening and a real shame when it ended – not that many could actually remember that bit! We just had a brilliant time." DaC Chairman Brian Rice told Call Sign: "Being the most successful Taxi company doesn’t work unless you have the right staff in the background keeping the wheels turning. And our staff are the best, which is why we treat them so well and why they deserved this party." |

Whose Rank? |
|
Just two minutes before Call
Sign photographer Alan Green snapped this photo, two policemen
walked past and totally ignored the fact that a Pedicab had
ranked up on the Cranbourn Street Taxi rank. Is this something
we now have to accept? On the other hand, had Alan managed to get out of his cab to ask Her Majesty’s finest why they said nothing to the glorified cyclist, they may well have answered by pointing out the Taxi parked on the rank with no sign of the driver. Fortunately, neither can happen on Friday and Saturday nights between 10pm and 2 am as that rank still operates under marshalled supervision. If the Marshals can get you a job homewards, then they will. But the LTDA’s Steve McNamara told Call Sign that there are lots of nice jobs coming out for those who don’t mind where they go – and you won’t get a paralytic drunk either! |
