Hello Ladies and Gents,
Can I firstly thank, everyone who not only helped, but also enquired as to the well being of Dial-a-Cab Marshal Chas Kissin who had a bad accident a while back. I’m glad to say that he is at home resting for a short period and apart from being badly shaken and bruised, he is fine and probably climbing the walls waiting to return to work. It is very gratifying to know that there are so many of you that are ready and willing to assist a fellow member and Chas and his wife certainly appreciated everyone’s efforts.

Code 3, EC5 and the Bid Button I am sure that you are all pleased with the increase in work, especially noticeable on the Finsbury Square rank (EC5). During busy periods, unmatched trips in this zone will appear in the Bid Trips after two minutes, this will then allow you to bid for work whilst you have your Code 3 (going home facility) activated. As long as you are within the correct time parameters the NREJ A/D trip will be unmasked and offered to you if it matches the home zone and its 8 back up zones. To qualify, you must have been signed on for at least 8 hours and completed 3 account trips. Talking to many regular working drivers using EC5, they would much prefer to have the choice of being offered longer lucrative trips as well as shorter journeys during their working shift. Please remember that unlike other circuits, preference is given to your current queue position and not the going home button (which I have been told by fellow members that have joined DaC from other circuits, was very unfair especially for working drivers). blank screen problem became prevalent and the fix is currently on test. You will all soon be notified to pop in to Roman Way to finally put this problem to bed. Believe me, it is frustrating for all of us but it happens with all high tech equipment.

NEW OPERATIONS DIRECTOR AT LTI VEHICLES |
LTI Vehicles has announced the key
strategic appointment of Mike Brown as its new
Operations Director. Mike has responsibility for all
aspects of manufacturing at the Holyhead Road plant
where the TXII is produced. Mike is married with two children and lives near Shipston-on-Stour. He has a pedigree of more than 40 years in the motor industry both in the UK and overseas, having begun his career as an apprentice in product engineering at the Rover Motor Company in Solihull during the early 1960s. He left to spend a year in research and development for Ford in Essex before returning to Rover in the Midlands for a further four-year spell. In 1973 he departed for South Africa to work in product engineering for Nissan’s subsidiary over there before being seconded in 1977 to sister company Truckmakers to establish an engineering department for a major new contract for the production of military vehicles. In the mid 1980s, Mike returned to the UK and joined Coventry-based component supplier Motorpanels as a product engineer. He worked in a variety of senior positions, eventually becoming Managing Director until the company was taken over last year. Mike told Call Sign: "I am delighted to be joining such a well known British automotive name as LTI and to be returning to front line vehicle production. My key aim is to bring about further enhancements to vehicle quality through the ongoing development of our ‘lean manufacturing’ ethos which is integral to our continuous drive for competitive edge." |
