At a hot and sunny Brent Cross Shopping Centre, the 2004 Taxi Driver of the Year competition was won by Dial-a-Cab driver David Ammar (L75). David told Call Sign that he was stunned and didn’t think he had a chance "…but I’m thrilled to have won it!"

Smile of the day came from another DaC entrant, Andy Daniels (A02). He told Call Sign about his ‘drive’ where the highest points come to those with the lowest reading on their ‘stopped’ meter when arriving back at the Show after their prescribed journey.

"I was doing really well," he said laughing, "but I couldn’t find the entrance to get back into the Show and added around £2 onto the fare!"
