Hello Ladies and Gents…
With Christmas fast approaching, can I please
give you notice of some of the many functions that
will be appearing on your message pages over the
coming weeks. Throughout the festive period, we will
be asking for your normal high levels of support at
Battersea Park and also this year, at Ranelagh
Gardens (Bull Ring) just south of Chelsea Bridge.
The Marshals will be on site at both venues most
nights and I am confident that we can supply large
numbers of taxis at both of these prestigious
locations and provide you, the members, and the rest
of the licensed trade with good quality work.
Please spread the word and help keep minicabs away
from our business, because without your help we will
be fighting a losing battle. Parking Enforcement on Transport

on red routes will be subject to
civil law rather than criminal law, as it currently
stands. TfL feels that it will enable a greater
level of enforcement to be targeted at those
locations where illegal parking causes significant
traffic congestion, delays and inconvenience to all
road users. Printers and Signals |
confirmation from the PCO that the
Dial-a-Cab printer has been sufficiently
re-programmed and updated to meet all their 2005
guidelines. You will shortly be receiving a letter
from the BoM that will explain how the printers are
to be used, but the good news is that you need not
purchase or rent an additional printer from the
meter manufactures. We as a Board are fully aware of the signal problems that are causing concerns to some members and there are a number of improvements at the base stations which will be made very soon which should improve all aspects of your working day. Please bear with us; we have been in consultation with all relevant parties and we will shortly have a report to work from and although the improvements are ongoing and complex, everything humanly possible will be done to improve the situation. Finally, can I mention that there are two ways to unlock a frozen screen, the first is to remove the auxiliary fuse and the second is to disconnect the battery for a few seconds. Both methods will allow you to re-boot the system using the yellow power button, the latter will also prevent a flat battery if the taxi is unused for any length of time (see letters page). For help and advice please ring Roman Way on 0207 700 4443. Have a very profitable December and a great Christmas! Allan Evans |
