November
4, 2004 saw the parting of the ways for Dial-a-Cab and Stuart
Tilling, the solicitor from Fladgate Fielder who has advised
this Society so many times in drawing up documents and matters
legal over the past 35 years. Known by few drivers, Stuart first acted for ODRTS in 1969 when this company was led by Jack Russell as Chairman and Bill Brown as Secretary. He has acted continuously - when needed - ever since, even though he became a Partner in Fladgate Fielder along the way. "I have thoroughly enjoyed working for a variety of Chairmen (seven I believe)," Stuart told Call Sign, "and on numerous challenging assignments." He went on to add: "I have been particularly fortunate to witness the Society develop from modest roots in Shirland Road to a multi-million pound |

organisation with the most up to date IT equipment in the world. Although I have merely been a professional adviser, I feel a sense of pride in the Society's development and growth. I must add that much of this has been achieved under | the
stewardship of Brian Rice and during this time I have
especially enjoyed both the professional and personal

DAC’S DEBBIE TO RECORD HER OWN TRACKS |
|
Since
Call Sign published an article about 18-year-old DaC Call
Taker and hopeful recording star, Debbie Russell, in the
November issue, she has received an invite to record some of
her own tracks in a recording studio. Debbie has been writing her own material for some time and this will give her the chance to let others judge her voice. At a recent audition, a recording executive saw Debbie and two other girls who had linked up to form a group and suggested that there could be a big future ahead. In fact both Sony and Global Publishing have offered the girls a recording contract. "But I need to get into a studio to find out whether my own stuff is as good as I think it is," said the lovely Debbie, "and the only way to do that is to record them." |
