SPLT SACK GENERAL SECRETARY
John-Paul Pace, the Society of Professional Licensed Taxidrivers (SPLT) General Secretary, has been sacked from his position by the management of Radio Taxis Ltd, who administer the organisation.
   Mr Pace told Call Sign that he had been given the option of resigning, but had refused because he considered that he had been doing a good job.
   "I’m not really sure why I was sacked as I wasn’t told," he said, "but it could be because I tried to keep SPLT as independent as I could. But whatever the reason, resigning would have been hypocritical. However, I wish the organisation well."

Following last issue’s reprint in Dutch from their Taxi magazine CABBY concerning a visit to Brunswick House by two members of the Dutch London Taxi Club, this issue shows a clipping from the Greek Taxi Magazine TAXI. What the contents say, we have no idea as all the Greek-speaking members of DaC’s staff were away at the time we received the copy.

We assume that it is in connection with an invited trip Brian Rice made to the second Greek City after Athens, Thessaloniki, as a guest speaker at a conference called by the Greek authorities to help the Taxi service reach out towards the standards of London.

It does go to show how well known Dial-a-Cab have become around the world…
