LEFT-HANDERS HAVE THEIR DAY!
Or...YAD RIEHT EVAH SREDNAH-TFEL
Right-handers beware! Things will be taking a sinister turn on August 13 as
left-handers mark the 11th annual Left-Handers Day celebrations by declaring
their homes and offices 'Lefty Zones' where right-hand dominance will for once
be banned! The 28,000 members of The Left-Handers Club and thousands of
visitors to the www.left-handersday.com website, will be celebrating their
sinistrality by turning the tables on right-handers, who will for once
experience how awkward and frustrating it can be living in a
'back-to-front-world'.
Organised by the International Left-Handers Club, the purpose of Left-Handers
Day is to create awareness among the right-handed majority - in a light-hearted
way - of the problems right-biased design of everything from scissors to sinks,
chequebooks to computer mice or musical instruments to microwaves can have on
the 13% of the population who do not use their right hand for tasks.
Visitors to the website can win prizes playing a host of games and
activities online, including Celebrity Treasure Hunt and the Sinister Quiz.
This will not only reveal the fascinating background of this once forbidden
trait, but also highlight the strengths and attributes left-handers bring to
society today. They can read greetings from famous lefties, join the lefties
chatroom and discover what jobs and hobbies left-handers prefer.
One final warning to all right-handers who venture on to the site - if they
should happen to win one of the many prizes being given away, just remember it
will be left-handed and they have to use it! After all, it is Left-Handers
Day...!

SELLING DAC WITH LYDIA
|
Since my last article, it appears
that business is a little busier. From a Sales perspective, we have
certainly been picking up pace. The question that everyone seems to want to
know is when things will get back to where they were? Realistically, I don't
think that will be for some time, therefore it is critical that we continue
to work as a team - the objective being to make sure DaC continues to grow
well into the future.
With the celebrations of our 50th anniversary having had such a ripple
of envy in the trade, it was a privilege to have joined in with the
festivities. Having played host to many new clients, I want to thank them
all for joining us. After the party, it was the icing on the cake to receive
the wonderful messages of thanks and salutations from those who shared the
evening with us. It was a testament to Dial-a-Cab and a great way to thank
all of our customers for their valued support. The evening really showed
what sets us apart from the rest.
New Clients Update
To update you on what the team have been up to since we last spoke, we
have opened 87 new Corporate Accounts, 58 additional Corporate Accounts and
111 new Personal Accounts. In addition, our Credit Card sales are going from
strength to strength with some recent presence on radio, which has also
helped to raise DaC awareness.
I would implore you all to be aware that some of our many new
accounts have told us about their unpleasant experiences with previous
suppliers and who would
|
be upset if
it happened here; that is when the drivers are asked by clients to either take
them a short distance, or to an area that is less busy than perhaps they would
like to go to. I know you will support me with this knowledge.
I would hope that no one in this trade, let alone our company,
would ever tell a customer that their trip is not worth doing, however, if
other companies are prepared to operate with those standards, it leaves the
gate open for me to open even more accounts for you! If we want to retain our
accounts and continue to open new ones for our excellent service, we must set
ourselves apart and continue to treat all Corporate and other trips with great
importance.Driver Generated
Leads
May I take this opportunity to thank drivers for the quality of leads that I
have been receiving leading to five sizeable new accounts being opened. When
leads generate an appointment and an account is opened, there is an incentive
scheme in place to you all. Please contact me by phone on 0207 251 0581 (ext
671) or email me on lydiaf@dialacab.co.uk .
