From the DaC software team in Morgantown, Indiana, Tom and Debbie Carter send the latest update news...

MP5 Software Release 3.3.9 was successfully pilot-tested in June and the fleet upgrade will soon be underway. Some enhancements to the mobile software require that ALL mobiles must be upgraded before the enhancements take effect. Completion of the fleet upgrade is projected for late September.
This software release executes a frontal attack on mobile data communication errors. Many drivers have experienced ongoing difficulty with sending and receiving data, so when the entire fleet is upgraded and this enhancement is activated, data communications will be faster and more reliable.
On some accounts, ComCab chargecards will now be accepted by Dial-a-Cab for both hail and ride and dispatched trips. These cards will be standard-issue ComCab chargecards that will work just like Dial-a-Cab's own chargecards. This enhancement will become active once the entire fleet has been upgraded.
Dispatched trips may include up to 10 requirements that will be presented to you at the appropriate time in the trip cycle. Examples of trip requirements are: WAIT AND RETURN in non-As Directed trip offers, NEW ACCOUNT on trip <Accept>, ADVISE ARRIVAL,

MAKE OWN CONTACT, NAMEBOARD and DRIVER TO RECEPTION on <Arrival>, CUSTOMER REQUIRES RECEIPT on <Clear Job>.
Except for trip offers, pop-up windows are used to display the requirements. The trip requirements may also be reviewed at any time during the trip. The purpose of this enhancement is to consistently present trip requirements to you when the information is needed. This enhancement will also be activated after the entire fleet is upgraded. Another enhancement will see the bid trip form revamped to provide zone selection by button rather than typing in a zone name.
A second page of general code buttons has been added to simplify communications with the Call Centre by no longer requiring you to know and then type in the general code number. The new buttons are: <Pass Gone>, <FP Excess>, <Xtra Run In>, <Breakdown>, <Long Wait>, <Add VHT> and <Send Auth>.
All of the buttons, except for <Send Auth> previously functioned by typing in the general code numbers. <Send Auth> should be used when debit/credit card authorisation has not been received within a reasonable amount of time. The <Send Auth> button requests the card authorisation be sent to you again, thus preventing a lock-up in the "awaiting authorisation" state.
When the trip details include extra remarks, the system will present a <PAGE 2> button to force viewing of the remarks before <Arrival> or <POB> are allowed. This button only appears when extra remarks exist. When possible, extra remarks will now be included in <Page 1> of the trip details.
The response to <Long Wait> will be a comprehensive message that includes how long to continue waiting.
That's it for now, have a nice day and enjoy the ride...!
