New Account -
University College Hospital
Contrary to what you may have read in the
trade press, the NHS does not necessarily
prefer to use minicabs rather that licensed
taxis and a new account won by Dial-a-Cab
could help to prove that point.
However, like all new accounts,
it needs your help and consideration to the
passengers and hopefully, this account could
grow to be a very large and rewarding for
both parties.
The passengers will be
prospective patients who will be going to
the Middlesex Hospital for assessments,
treatment or operations and then
returning home (not as a wait and return).
This new initiative, the London
Patent Choice Project, is funded by the
Government. They have

set an objective that if
a patient has been on the waiting list of
their local hospital for 6 months or more,
they will be contacted to be given the choice
of whether to remain on the list or be treated
in another hospital elsewhere - for example in
London. The obvious objective is to get
treatment to patients as quickly as possible
and to help cut down waiting lists.
How the Account Will Work
This is how the account will work.
Please bear in mind that

the passengers are prospective patients
and may require assistance plus a little
TLC...
Appointment times will have been
made for the passengers at the Middlesex
Hospital, therefore it is obviously important
that you get them there as soon as possible,
but please bear in mind that the passenger may
be nervous.
You must make your own contact,
either when picking up from a home address or
from the Middlesex Hospital if taking a
patient back to their home.
Please advise Dispatch of any
problems whatsoever. This is a very new
project between the NHS and Dial-a-Cab and we
all need to work together to turn it into the
success we know it can be.
