Hello Ladies and Gents...
Virgin (West Coast Trains)
We are now just over halfway through
the eighteen week period of engineering works
and have used almost 500 different drivers, who
have - in turn - been allocated days/times to
cover this most lucrative work. There are still
drivers who have not yet been picked to work at
any of the designated stations, but you have
certainly not lost the opportunity. It will be
carrying on into December and we will try to use
as many of you as possible over the coming
weeks. Although Virgin trains are now opening up
their services at 4pm on Sundays, the starting
times for you, the drivers, have been revised to
give everyone a fair and equal chance to work on
this account.
One point, though, can I please ask
you not to discuss payments or mileage rates
with passengers in the back of your taxis and to
be as discreet as possible whilst waiting at any
of the designated stations.
Once again, I would like to take
this opportunity to thank all of you for your
help while this operation has been in progress,
it has
|
undoubtedly been a great success and from
talking to many of you over the past two
months, it has also been very rewarding.
Westminster TaxiCards
The passenger now pays the first
£1.50 for each journey up to a meter fare of
£11.30. The maximum subsidy that you can now
clear is £9.80. If the meter fare exceeds
£11.30, the cardholder now also pays the
extra amount shown on the meter in addition to
the £1.50. Please remember that there is no
minimum fare on this account and that the
cardholder's fee of £1.50 must not be
included when the job is cleared. The
maximum run-in is still £3.40 and the
cardholder also pays for additional
passengers. If a trip displays the 'W'
attribute, the £4 surcharge will be
automatically added to the fare in the normal
way.

Christmas
With the Christmas period fast approaching, I
expect many enquiries and bookings for
Marshalling events throughout the festive
season. Very soon I shall be contacting many of
our account clients and offering them our
marshalling services - which are undoubtedly
second-to-none. You will of course be notified
when these events are due to take place and your
assistance will be greatly appreciated. Many
large corporate clients will be using our
services and I am in no doubt that you will give
the marshalling team your normal high levels of
support.
Over this busy period, I also
believe it is important to realise that our
clients do not only use the services of
Dial-a-Cab over the Christmas period, but also
throughout the rest of the year. Our present
levels of coverage are excellent and we must all
strive to give our customers the high levels of
service that they now expect, especially when
demand is high...
See you out on the road...
