As the first - and still only - UK taxi magazine to have its own Internet
on-line library as against the now old-hat method of just putting each issue
on-line, Call Sign probably receives more post from outside this country
than any other trade mag. However, as an in-house magazine, we only publish
non-DaC letters when space allows or if they are particularly interesting.
One recent communication, however, went beyond that and has merited a piece
in Call Sign proper! |
Call Sign Reaches the

![]() deregulated," said Sachi, "and I was wondering if you could
add anything to the Call Sign article on the subject in February 1998. We
would like to organise a pre-recorded interview with the author about the
taxi situation before and after deregulation in Sweden." |
However, the differences in the two languages meant that the Chairman
might well have had to be renamed as Blian Lice and we couldn't find anyone
prepared to tell him! The amazing part about the whole thing was that Sachi Uchido tracked down the deregulation article from the Call Sign library by going back to February 1998 and an article on the subject by Swedish journalist / taxi driver Peppe Arninge! Almost at the same time as Sachi wrote, the article also appeared in a magazine published by the New Zealand Taxi Federation called TAXI! Our library site is obviously keeping the world busy! Call Sign is now wondering whether it should introduce to the library site, the equivalent of corkage or should we just put up a notice: "Please help yourself to articles!" However, we came to the conclusion that as it is helping to spread the name of Dial-a-Cab worldwide, Call Sign would look the other way! As for J-Wave 81.3: Ok Sachi, dereg is a no-no because it hasn't and hopefully never will, arrive here. But if you want to talk about London, we'd be proud to help... |
