The food crew led by Bill Tyzack (C6) and wife Grace who lost
count of the sandwiches after 1000 fingers!

Derek Martin- Taxi driver Charlie in Eastenders -
changes from fairway to Noddy's car - with help from the Fund's
committee.
Dry and cloudy it may have been outside, but inside 'The Great Room' at
London's Grosvenor House Hotel, even the walls were shaking to the sound of
600 or so children together with around 400 carers, all having the time of
their lives. It was Mad Hatters Ball time again and the joint was jumping!
A non-stop stream of celebrities also popped in to say hi to
the very appreciative kids; among them was Derek Martin - taxi driver
Charlie in Eastenders, young pop star Natalie, Blockbusters star Bob Holness,
chef Brian Turner and many others. Black Diamond DJ Dave Davis was
magnificent in holding the event together, but there are two stars of the
afternoon. First the children and secondly the Committee of the London
Taxidrivers Fund for Underprivileged Children.
New LTFUC Chairman Mike Son was also unstinting in his praise
for the Grosvenor House Hotel, who year after year contribute The Great Room
for the day at no cost to the Fund. It wouldn't do any harm for us to
remember our friends when they are looking for taxis when business gets back
to normal!
But in the meantime, here's to next year's Ball...

Pic left: A rare get-together for a group of previous
fund chairman; from 1 - r: Barry Levine ( the other one), Monty Grant , Ivor
Smere , Gerry Chess, current Chairman Mike Son, Basil Bresh and SamHarris.
