Dial-a-Cab
has said goodbye to its young, blond Adonis dispatcher, Billy Rice, who left
recently for new pastures. Billy, the son of Chairman Brian, was an
Assistant Supervisor on the Evening Shift having started out as a Call Taker
on his arrival at Brunswick House almost four years ago. Having gained a University degree in Media Studies, that is exactly the field that Billy has now entered into with a position as Assistant Editor for Premium TV. His job will involve editing the best bits of football matches for Internet websites. As a football fanatic and season ticket holder at QPR (with dad!), the job, according to Billy is just a dream come true... "I'm surrounded by live feeds of every game and it's up to me to select the bits that I think fans would enjoy watching. I am also considering putting together a video of QPR's 100 best throw-ins...!" And as for Dial-a-Cab? "Yes, I do miss it. Outsiders wouldn't understand, but there has always been this friendly atmosphere on the Brunswick House fourth floor. We all got on so well and even the job itself was enjoyable. Meeting and speaking to such a variety of passengers and drivers was always really interesting, although that Chairman's a bit on the tough side - he threatened to stop my spending money if I said anything nasty about him!" Good luck, Billy... |
Call Centre favourite, Joanne Clegg, made the second member of the Dial-a-Cab control room to make an excuse and leave the company's employ last month. She had been with DaC for four years on a part time basis - usually weekends - which she shared with a college degree course in Spanish. Now, as part of her course, she has to go and spend a year in Spain to become fluent in the language. Speaking to Joanne at her leaving 'bash', she told Call Sign that she was really sad to leave Brunswick Place. "I've been so happy working there. The staff are just great and I consider them to be friends as well as workmates. I will really miss them..." Even if we had tried, we just couldn't have found anyone who didn't like Joanne and Call Sign wishes her the very best of luck...
