CALL SIGN AND THE PARKING TICKETS "SCAM"-
|
|
|
It all started in the October Call Sign when
Roy Martin (R42 described receiving a PCN Notice of Fine through the post.
Lambeth Council wanted to double the amount owed as they claimed that Roy
hadn't paid. Roy knew that no ticket had been issued, as there was no
warden in sight. He appealed and won his case. He later told Call Sign that this was the second time he had received a PCN notice when no original ticket had been attached to the cab. Roy appealed twice and won both. Then Brian McKenzie (A63) wrote to Call Sign. He too had received two non-existent payment demands for parking offences where no ticket had |
been issued. Several other letters detailing
parking incidents followed from drivers in the Mailshot pages. Both Dial-a-Cab drivers, Roy Martin and Brian McKenzie, have been trying to get the question of traffic wardens and non-issued tickets investigated, but have naturally found it difficult. Then on March 15th, Roy Martin opened his post to find a letter from the Met Police Fraud Squad in Holborn. He contacted Call Sign and we are now asking for your help... If you believe that you have been a victim of a non-issued ticket by a traffic attendant, that is to say that you have received a demand to pay either the fine or a non-payment penalty fine, yet you |
are certain that you had never received a
ticket on that particular occasion, then please write to Call Sign giving
the following details - even if you have already written to Mailshot
previously: Your name, badge number and DaC call sign. The location of the incident and which borough that comes under. Details of the Traffic Warden (from the summons or ticket) and please confirm whether you would be willing to attend court if necessary. Please give a contact telephone number as well. Call Sign will treat all replies in confidence and pass them on to Roy Martin who is dealing directly with the Fraud Squad. |
